Q: What iTunes account should I use with my iPad?

Q: Can I download and install free apps on the iPad assigned to me?

A: Yes, as long as the app is appropriate and relevant to your teaching assignment.

Q: Can I purchase apps to download and install on the iPad assigned to me?

A: We have available credit for you to use to purchase apps. Be sure to consult with a technology staff member to make sure that the app has been reviewed for purchase.

Q: What should I do if one of the iPads in my care experiences a problem?

A: Submit a work order via the Eduphoria Help Desk system.

Q: How often should I charge my iPad?

A: It is a good idea to plug your iPad in to charge whenever it is not in use, but charging overnight should give you the battery life you will need for a full day of use.

Q: How do I project what's on my iPad so that my students can see?

A: Apple makes a special adapter that allows the iPad to plug in to a VGA cable, which will then allow most of the things on the iPad to be projected. Another option is to use the Reflector 2 application from Air Squirrels. This is an application that is installed on your Windows laptop. The laptop and the iPad must be on the same wireless network for this option. You can learn more about Reflector at http://www.airsquirrels.com/reflector/

Q: Can I print from my iPad?

A: Yes, but it's not easy. Try to use Google Drive to store and share documents instead of printing.

Q: If my iPad is lost, can it be found using the Find My iPad service?

A: Yes, as long as this service is enabled on the iPad. Be sure to enable this once you have signed in with your iCloud account on the iPad.

Q: Can technology staff control the camera and/or microphone on my iPad?

A: No, technology staff cannot remotely control the camera or microphone on your iPad.

Q: Can I load my own music and movies on my iPad?

A: Please refrain from loading any personal media on the iPad except for items that you are using specifically for class activities.

Q: Are there any restrictions on the iPads that will prevent my students from accessing inappropriate material?

A: Yes, technology staff members have loaded a customized profile on the iPad that restricts students from accessing materials on the iTunes store that are not age appropriate. In addition, students are protected while browsing the Internet by the Sonicwall content filter. Even with these measures in place, it is most important for the teacher to monitor students at all times as they use the iPads.
