HMS Connect2Learn

OVERVIEW

Chromebook, protective case, and power adapter is available for any student in grades 7 & 8 who would like to be assigned this equipment for use at home. Students who wish to be issued a loaner device must read and agree to the guidelines in the Connect2Learn handbook and must sign and have a parent sign the user agreement (see below). Students must also pay a $30 insurance fee for device protection. 

Class sets of devices will be provided for students in grade 6 to use while at school.

STUDENT GOALS

Our Connect2Learn program provides 1:1 devices for students. The goals of this program are aligned with our district's technology-related goals for students: 

1 - Students demonstrate creative thinking, construct knowledge, and develop innovative products and processes using technology.

2 - Students use digital media and environments to communicate and work collaboratively, including at a distance, to support individual learning and contribute to the learning of others.

3 - Students utilize digital tools to gather, evaluate, and use information.

4 - Students use critical thinking skills to plan and conduct research, manage projects, solve problems and make informed decisions using appropriate digital tools and resources.

5 - Students understand human, cultural, and societal issues related to technology and practice legal and ethical behavior.

6 - Students demonstrate a sound understanding of technology concepts, systems, and operations.
